I'd just like to point out that at the time of TLJ's creation, Lady Alvane 100% absolutely was April Ryan.
PROOF: If you look at the model files (with that tool, TLJ viewer or whatever it is called), the models are called OldApril.

Ragnar said something about that but I can't find the post now, it was something like it was the German version only and they where not to do it or something like that.

Some people had said that in the German version Lady Alvane was referred to in-game as April, but I've since heard that wasn't actually true. Anyway, Ragnar said it wasn't certain.
It is true, however, that the game files for Lady Alvane refer to "Old April". This indicates that, at one point in development, they thought she was April. This doesn't mean it hasn't changed, however.

I can see the advantages of this.
Broken Sword [1&2], for instance, woked great in 2D
